- Vacancies: A total of 341 tentative vacancies are available across elite cadres like the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)
- Experience Required: Regular Upper Division Clerks (UDC/SSA) with at least 6 years of approved service as of 1 July 2025.
- Age Limit: Generally 20 to 30 years for most ASO posts, with standard government age relaxations
- Selection Process : Computer-Based Tier 1 Exam is scheduled to be held across August and September 2026. Tier 2 will follow in December 2026 final merit List.
Salary
- Selected candidates for the Assistant Section Officer post will be placed under Pay Level-7 (Group 'B' Non-Gazetted) with a pay scale ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400. They are additionally eligible for allowances like DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance
